And so I claim my prize. PINAS OR BUST is still the Filipino Blog of the Week!

I broke my flow yesterday and wasn’t able to make a post. Hmmm, come to think of it, it’s probably okay as yesterday was my birthday. Blog holiday!

Thanks to all those who greeted me, beer flooded my house last night. Thanks too to all who voted for this site at the polls. Hall of Fame!

Just after a month of (serious) blogging, Pinas or Bust! has already gotten something! Earlier this week I was surprised to receive a “Congrats on the nomination!” message on my shoutbox and immediately, I tried to remember if I signed up my blog for any contest. Looks like someone out there nominated this site. You know who you are. Thanks!

I was thrilled at being nominated for something because, hey, it was my first time, but I didn’t expect that people would actually vote for Pinas or Bust! I blog just to get heard and to show my humble pictures to the world. By the time the polls closed, this site had garnered about 300 votes and ultimately got the award. My congratulations goes to the other nominees as well. Pinoy blogging power! I know its one of those cute blog awards, but hey we gotta celebrate the good stuff!

My appreciation goes to The Composed Gentleman who hosts and gives away the Filipino Blog of the Week award. This blog is automatically nominated for Week 104. Go out and vote!

And so my official career as a blogger begins.

I may have had a blog or two at some other blog site before but it always ended being outdated, un-updated and ultimately dead. But I think 2007 has made me mature online-wise, my Multiply site being updated 4-5 times weekly is a definite achievement! I can now honor commitments!

“Pinas Or Bust!” is a slogan theartschoolgirlfriend (http://www.theartschoolgirlfriend.com) and I coined, and played with during our stint at GO! Travel Magazine. We used “Pinas Or Bust!” in photo shoots, editorials, even as a mantra with the illusion of us being hitch hikers.

And now it’s the title of my travel/photography/i-hate-categories-anyway blog where I’ll be featuring my recent travel experiences, my advancement as a photographer, information on independent travel and ultimately my guide to world domination.

Give me EDSA or give me nothing!
