I brought my film SLR with me today and I was just out of it. I didn’t shoot a single frame.

So here are some more shots taken while strolling around Baguio City’s most dense artery, Session Road.

And so I’m back in the fiery pits of Manila though today wasn’t that hot thanks to the clouds.
Here are my feeble attempts at street photography, shot Friday afternoon at Session Road with my Canon Rebel 2000, mated with a 70-200 2.8 and loaded with Kodak BW400CN. I’m slowly starting to develop new composition techniques, trying to “see” in black and white.
No matter how gaudy Session Road gets, I am just simply in love with it. It’s always so busy with locals and tourists moving up and down, up and down.

Session Road or Bust!

I’m here in our Baguio office and I’m still in my film state of mind. Once I get this done, I plan to shoot some street stuff at Session Road.
This was shot at the gloomy halls below the Cape Bojeador lighthouse in Ilocos Norte.

Even if Baguio is old and stale, the chillier climate is very much welcome. Although I hear smoky-hot Manila is wet right now.

New toy!
Well, it isn’t mine exactly.
For some unknown reason, Irene’s dad owns a Pentax K1000, an aged, heavy, metal brick of a camera which upon scrutiny, I think will work again. It just needs some CLA. It’s being lent to me unconditionally, and Irene’s dad doesn’t even know how to use it. So I think it’s almost mine. Almost.
It’s currently mated with a 50mm F2.0 and I think it’s meter is busted. I wish I had a light meter.

Must go to Hidalgo. Must go to Hidalgo.
But it’s so hot.

Tributaries (Canon Rebel 2000 + Kodak BW400CN + 17-40)
I found this awesome tree just outside the entrance of Agua Grande, along the Patapat Viaduct in Ilocos Norte. Most of my friends say that I am hopelessly in love with patterns.

While doing some “summer tidying” of my files I saw this picture I took about November last year on a trip to Ilocos. I’m in a sort of film mood and lately I’ve been really itching to shoot some monos.

My shutter finger is itchy. Yearning to get out of the city yet once more.
Let’s go!

And so I claim my prize. PINAS OR BUST is still the Filipino Blog of the Week!
I broke my flow yesterday and wasn’t able to make a post. Hmmm, come to think of it, it’s probably okay as yesterday was my birthday. Blog holiday!
Thanks to all those who greeted me, beer flooded my house last night. Thanks too to all who voted for this site at the polls. Hall of Fame!
Woot!
